WHO IS MANNY ABARCA?

Manny Abarca is a proud father, neighbor, Grandview High School alumnus, and dedicated public servant with deep roots in Jackson County. As Chairman of the Jackson County Legislature, he has worked alongside residents, businesses, and community organizations to address local challenges and strengthen communities across the county.

His experiences as a father and lifelong Jackson County resident have shaped his commitment to creating opportunities for future generations and supporting communities where families and small businesses can thrive. Through his leadership and community involvement, Manny has developed a firsthand understanding of the diverse needs and priorities of residents throughout Jackson County.

As Chairman, Manny has focused on community engagement, public accountability, and responsive government. He has built strong relationships with families, business owners, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders, believing that effective leadership begins with listening, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to public service.

Manny is running for Jackson County Executive to continue that work by bringing Jackson County residents together, delivering real results, and building a county that WORKS FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

Successfully secured and distributed $35 million to community organizations, investing directly in programs that strengthen neighborhoods and support families. 

Led the effort to freeze property taxes for senior citizens after illegal increases, protecting those on fixed incomes and helping them stay in their homes.

Strengthened protections for victims of domestic violence and improved 911 services in Kansas City, ensuring faster response and greater support for those in crisis.

Took on complex public safety challenges, including addressing gun violence in Kansas City, after experiencing the 2024 Chiefs celebration tragedy firsthand.

Manny has a strong record of delivering for our communities, including:

  • Delivered $35 million to local community nonprofits.

  • Authored legislation giving voters the power to recall the County Executive and elect the County Assessor.

  • Passed the Senior Property Tax Freeze, helping seniors remain in their homes.

  • Passed one of Missouri's most comprehensive domestic violence laws, removing firearms from perpetrators of violence.

  • Advocated for the closure of the South KC ICE Facility while demanding greater transparency and accountability.
